For kindergardens and schools
For me, school photography is not about formal portraits. It’s about a moment in life that will never happen again.

It’s about who your children are right now: how they communicate, laugh, sit at their desks, and feel within their class. These small details are what become the most valuable over time.
It’s important to me that children recognize themselves in the photos — without identical poses or “forced smiles.” During the shoot, children are free to laugh, move, be themselves, and suggest ideas, even if a child is shy or doesn’t usually enjoy being photographed.
Although parents make the decision to book the photoshoot, these photographs are, first and foremost, for the children themselves. For memories they will want to return to later.
My goal is to organize the process in a way that gives attention to every child and leaves the class with an honest, warm story of their time together.

What Is a Shooting Block?

The photoshoot is planned not by the number of photos, but by time and children’s comfort.

  • 1 shooting block = 2 hours of photography.

This allows us to photograph up to 15 children calmly and without rushing, giving attention to each child.

If there are more children, the shoot should:
  • be extended in time, or
  • be divided into several shooting blocks
so that:
  • children don’t get tired,
  • no one gets lost in the process,
  • everyone receives a similar number of photos.
That’s why the shooting format is selected based on the number of children and the goals of the shoot.

School photoshoot
The photoshoot takes place on school premises — in the classroom and other available spaces.

This may include:
  • classroom
  • hallways and common areas
  • other classrooms
  • assembly hall
  • school yard (if available and suitable)

Specific locations are chosen based on what the school allows and what works best for a particular class.

The school photoshoot includes:
  • individual portraits of each child
  • (both more formal portraits for yearbooks and relaxed, natural ones)
  • photos with friends and small groups
  • class group photos
  • separate photos of boys and girls (optional)
  • teacher portraits, if they wish to participate

This is the most “authentic” format — focused on real school life, familiar surroundings, and the atmosphere of the class.
Outdoor photoshoot
Outdoor photoshoots take place at a free and safe location such as a park, garden, promenade, or another suitable area.
The location is selected and approved in advance.

The outdoor shoot includes:
  • individual portraits of each child
  • photos with friends and small groups
  • class group photos

The main difference of an outdoor shoot is freedom:
  • children can move freely
  • laugh
  • interact with each other
  • wear casual clothes instead of school uniforms

For outdoor shoots, parental assistance is usually required for organization and supervision, as a teacher may not always be present.
Photoshoot at a Separate Location
A separate-location shoot is a more event-style and thoughtfully planned format.
We discuss the idea, mood, and overall concept in advance.

Possible locations include:
  • photo studio
  • ranch or farm (for example, with horses)
  • urban locations (evening streets, graffiti, architecture)
  • natural locations (fields, gardens, blooming almond trees, etc.)

The format and location are always discussed individually and chosen according to the children’s age and the goals of the shoot.

Features of this format:
  • a concept or scenario is planned in advance
  • more coordinated clothing choices may be required
  • more organizational support from parents is needed
  • the result is more atmospheric and visually striking

This format is ideal if you want not just to document a moment, but to create a distinct story or mood.
